Local Credit Union Holds Annual Meeting

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Tongass Federal Credit Union held its annual business meeting and luncheon at the Ted Ferry Civic Center in Ketchikan. The meeting, held on Feb. 23rd, was attended by 170 credit union members.

Members elected Mike Cruise and re-elected Larry Tillotson and Justin Breese to the Board of Directors at the annual membership meeting. Cruise fills the seat held by Bret Hiatt, who served a full three-year Board term and chose not to seek another term.

In a board meeting following the membership meeting, the Board re-elected its current officers:  Jeannette Rosier, Chair; Mark Tollfeldt, Vice Chair; Larry Tillotson, Treasurer; and Jeanne Sande, Secretary.  Nathan Fawcett of Metlakatla also serves on the Board of Director.

The Board reappointed Judith McQuerry and appointed Carol Schafer to the Supervisory Committee. Schafer fills the seat held by Maggie Freitag, who served a full-three Supervisory Committee term and asked not to be reappointed. Also serving on the Supervisory Committee are Carolyn Wilsie, Kim Judge Singstad and Georgianna Zimmerle.

At the membership meeting, charter member Betty Marksheffel was recognized.

Tongass Federal Credit Union is a financial cooperative owned by its members. Founded in 1963 by teachers and public employees, it has branches on three islands in Southern Southeast Alaska, and is open for membership to anyone living, working, attending school or worshipping in this area.
