Ketchikan Police & State Trooper Report

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Any charges reported in these public records are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Alaska State Troopers:

Ketchikan: Assault 4th Degree DV, Escape in the 2rd Degree, attempted vehicle theft in the 1st degree --- On 03/14/13 at 1901 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on the South Tongass Highway after receiving a report of a Domestic Violence Assault. Investigation revealed that Vincent Morin, age 24 of Ketchikan had assaulted a family member by placing them in fear of being injured. Morin was taken into custody and placed into handcuffs and seated in the rear of the patrol vehicle however, Morin was able to escape through the window partition and flee the area on foot. AST searched the area but was not successful in locating Morin. The case is currently under investigation and anyone with information pertaining Morin's whereabouts is asked to call the Alaska State Troopers at 225-5118 or the Ketchikan Police Department at 225-6631. Callers can remain anonymous.

Update 03/15/13 PM: Morin has been located and arrested.

Ketchikan: Warrant Arrest --- On 03/14/13 at 1841 hours, Ashley McColley, age 23 of Ketchikan was arrested without incident on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from Reckless Driving. A. McColley was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with $250 bail.

Ketchikan: Theft 2nd --- On 3/13/13 AST received a report of theft of an outboard motor from a parked boat near the 7000 block of the North Tongass Highway. The boat owner reported that someone had removed his 1990 85hp Yamaha 2-stroke outboard motor from his boat sometime during the month of February 2012. The motor was valued at $750. Investigation will continue, anyone with information is asked to call AST at 225-5118. Your call may remain anonymous.

Ketchikan: DUI and Refusal --- On 3/13/2013 at approximately 2147 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI report near mile 7 of the North Tongass Highway. Troopers contacted a vehicle matching the description in the area and identified the driver as 63-year-old Deborah A. Hayden of Ketchikan. Investigation revealed Hayden was under the influence of alcohol. Haden was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Ketchikan AST Post where she refused to provide a sample of her breath. Hayden was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was remanded on the charges of DUI and Refusal. Bail was set at $1,500.

Ketchikan: MVC-D, DUI (Felony), DWLR --- On 3/13/13 at 0552 hours AST responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries near mile 12 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Jonathan Newberry, 35 years of age of Ketchikan was operating a 2007 Dodge Caravan northbound in the area of 12 mile North Tongass highway when he crossed the centerline and side swiped an oncoming pickup truck driven by Tommy White of Ketchikan. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and both drivers reported no injuries and declined medical transport. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts. Further investigation revealed that Jonathan Newberry had been driving while his licensewas revoked and while he was under the influence of alcohol. Newberry was taken into custody and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

Ketchikan City Police:

On 3/12/13 at about 4:03 PM officers arrested JAYSON BOWERS, 22 years of age of Ketchikan AK, on an outstanding warrant.  He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $500.00 bail.
