Bridge to Nowhere Retort
By Don Hoff, Jr. aka Aan Kadax Tseen

The cost of a bridge to nowhere was at 415 million taxpayer dollars back 7 years ago. I would say to would be over 500 million dollars at today's cost.

It's a dead issue... even the Republicans are hammering each other on pork barrel spending and still mentioning the bridge to nowhere in TV ads.

So, you want local hard working tax payers in Ketchikan to support a bond? Are you nuts? The ferry is fine.

For the record, I am not against a bridge to Gravina Island, just not through Pennock Island route. Pennock Island belongs to the Taan ta Kwaan and Saan ya Kwaan. Our tribal graves are buried from the south end to north end of Pennock Island. Desecration of Native Grave Site will not be tolerated yesterday, today nor tomorrow without a fight from my People!

Build your bridge from Wolff Point? Shorter and cheaper! But, it's a dream for you few opulent people that want the bridge to nowhere. I can't believe I'm still talking about this problem. How much of your wealth Mr. Ellis are you willing to put up for this bridge?
