I think Mr. Edwardson is definitely on to something. When I was in high school (back in the Dark Ages), we took State four years in a row with John Brown leading the charge. When my daughter was playing, we beat Juneau and went on to State.

Juneau has always been bigger but not necessarily better. There were years in the 60's when Petersburg and Wrangell and Sitka and Ketchikan gave Juneau a run for their money, years when for whatever reason there was a bumper crop of athletes coming out of these smaller towns. And, believe me, nothing is sweeter than handing Juneau its lunch. Even now.

Ask the kids what they want. You might be surprised.
