Elkins Announces DOT Project List for District 1

Juneau, Alaska - Representative Jim Elkins (R-Ketchikan) announced Wednesday the 2005 DOT projects list for District 1.

"I really appreciate the hard work and cooperation we have received from the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Southeast Region office here in Juneau, and in particular SE Director Gary Paxton. The latest information we have indicates projects totaling over $38 million this year," stated Representative Elkins.

Representative Elkins has endorsed the following projects for District 1:

Lewis Reef Road -- $1.5 million

Coffman Cove Ferry Terminal - (New terminal and road improvements to Dog Creek bridge) -- $10.2 million

Hollis Seaplane Float Rebuild - (Clark Bay) -- $900 thousand

N. Tongass Hwy - (Repave Whipple Creek to MP15) -- $5.0 million

S. Tongass Hwy - (Repave Mt. Pt. To Herring Cove) -- $5.0 million

Tongass Ave. - (Repave Tremont St. to Tunnel) -- $7.0 million

Stage 1 S.Tongass Hwy - (Reconstruct Saxman to Mt. Pt.) -- $6.0 million

Tongass Ave. - (Repave Ferry Terminal to 3rd Ave) -- $2.5 million
