and Game Submit
Commissioner Candidate Names to Governor

Juneau, Alaska - On Sunday, March 6, 2005, the Alaska Board of
Fisheries and Board of Game met jointly in Anchorage to compile
a list of names to forward to Governor Frank H. Murkowski for
his consideration in selecting a new commissioner of the Alaska
Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G).
The joint boards forwarded
the following names to the governor: McKie Campbell, Doug
Mecum, and Wayne Regelin. The boards did not assign a preferential
order to the list of names.
In accordance with statute,
Governor Murkowski will appoint the next ADF&G commissioner
from the list of qualified candidates generated by the joint
boards. The appointment must then be confirmed by the Alaska
Legislature.
