Ketchikan, Alaska - Irene Mojica, Admitting Customer Service Lead at Ketchikan General Hospital (KGH), has been named Employee of the Month by a committee of her peers.

Mojica has been an employee of the hospital for eight years. As the lead person in the Admitting Department, she trains new employees in the process of patient registration in the computerized medical record. She performs registration audits, operates the switchboard, and serves a wide variety of customer service needs.

"I love my job," Mojica states. "I love what I do - helping patients. I love the people that I work with and I have a wonderful manager."

The co-worker who nominated her stated, "She is always available for questions and is quick to respond to any situation. She is friendly with the hospital staff and extremely professional when it comes to our patients."

The award of Employee of the Month at Ketchikan General Hospital recognizes those who regularly go above and beyond what is required, to provide high quality service to patients, visitors and co-workers.
