Earthquake & tsunami recollections
by Jim Hadman

In conjunction with an ongoing research project at the Univ. of Hawaii, Hilo,on Earthquakes and specifically tsunamis, I am interested in eyewitness accounts, photos, recollections and personal experiences related to these events.

I am especially interested in information about the 8.1 magnitude quake that occurred offshore from the Queen Charlotte Islands in 1949 and shook the southern panhandle area rather severely.

The Lituya Bay quake and tsunami of 1958 are also of interest to me. Especially with regard to how it affected the area around Yakutat.

The next area of interest is, of course, the effects of the 1964 Anchorage quake and tsunami in Prince William Sound as well as the effects felt across Southeast.

Additionally any other personal experience accounts of earthquake and tsunami events would be welcome.

I hope this isn't too much trouble for you to publish. I am certain many interesting stories are waiting to be told. If you need more info don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you,

Jim Hadman
