On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to thank June Allen, Lance Mertz and Judy Christopher King for sharing their kind words about my father, Tom Carlin on Sitnews. It gives us comfort and fills us with pride to know that he was admired by so many.

I've always known that I am one lucky girl to have the parents that I do. My dad raised all of his children by example to be proud, be honest, work hard, to give more than you take, to take care of your family and as dad reminded me not long ago when I called him with the scary news that our oldest son Jim (who is serving in the U.S. Army) may be on his way to Iraq soon - reminded me that "it is a duty, an honor and a privledge to serve your country".

We'll never be the same without him, we miss him sooo.. much but we are greatful for what we still have...our mom, our family, our friends and our memories. Again, thank you for sharing yours.

God Bless America and God Bless Thomas Ivan Carlin.

Respectfully submitted,

P.S. June - Dad didn't have a computer but as an avid Sitnews reader, I quite often printed off copies of your stories to share with him - he always enjoyed them and it gave us time together to reminise...thank you!
