The ferry system, lifeblood of S.E. Alaska

By Clement Plamondon

What has been done to our ferry system in the past several years by blatant mismanagement and political manipulation is nothing short of criminal. Not to mention the stupidity of simply killing half the small communities of S.E. Alaska.

We need transportation if the S.E. is going to continue to grow and we are a young state that should be growing. There are ferry systems all over the world that have been operating in many ways for many years there is absolutely no reason that we should not have one here.

We should be an example of cooperative economical development with all of the resources and opportunities our great state has to offer.

Support the ferry system, fix the ferry system. It's not only the right thing to do it will also contribute to Alaska's welfare in the long run.

Sincerely,

Clement Plamondon
Resident Alaskan since 1973
