RE: War Powers Act

Al, this is what the man we both voted for in 2008, Senator John McCain, had to say about then candidate Barack Obama at a campaign rally in Minnesota in 2008:

"I have to tell you. Senator Obama is a decent person and a person you don't have to be scared of as president of the United States."

At the same event, Senator McCain told a woman who insisted Obama was an Arab, "No, ma'am. He's a decent family man [and] citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign's all about."

For sake of argument, Al, even if Obama were a Muslim, our constitution would not bar him from being president. Voters rejected efforts like yours to delegitimize him by questioning his citizenship, religion, patriotism, even his college record, and elected him anyway. Twice!

Barack Obama is our commander in chief, Al, and, especially as an ex-serviceman, I respect that. I think you should, too.
