Editor Sitnews,

Interesting article in the Alaska Dispatch News this date (2-6-15) regarding pay schedule for deputy commissioners and other high level personnel. Would the common man ever be made aware of these astronomical pay scales in several categories had not this publication had the fortitude to bring them to light?

As the discussion of Cuts and Reduction of Services are being held throughout the administration, those of us not privy to actions, might want to be knowledgeable of some of the cost of these various personnel as news reports of actions taken on the over all are announced.

It could be that some enterprising true journalist (other than a news reader) would inquire as to the intent of the Governor in addressing these specific salary ranges with justification for the continuance of those levels in light of the suggested cuts to low ranking employees.

Without a doubt our two elected State Legislators Senator Stedman and Representative Ortiz will be able to shed light and justification for continuing the current level of pay scales of these specific department personnel in light of the public persona of Every Thing is on the Table mentality. Should the State continue to pay top dollar to attract skilled knowledgeable expertise for these positions.Or not.

Maybe putting the positions out to bid in respective fields of expertise would be advisable. Just saying.

Regards,
