Property Taxes?

By Dennis Gudgeon

Can anyone explain to me how my property value is able to go up $32,800. in one year's time when I haven't done any improvements to the property?

This local government seems to be totally out of control.

Dear local government, I put my house up for sale last year and got zero offers, not even a low ball offer. That tells me that the assessments I have received over the years were inflated along with all the other property in Ketchikan.

If you can not or will not bring your spending under control, then raise the sales tax, at least that would be at least a little honest.

Overvaluing homes so you can pinch the homeowners for more in my opinion is very dishonest.

Thank you.
