(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - The City of Ketchikan Port & Harbors Department announced that the winter parking rules went into effect Tuesday, February 8.

Parking will be allowed for up to 2 hours or all day with a City of Ketchikan parking permit. Spaces are not marked but users are asked to be courteous and not park in the middle of the dock and block the normal travel lane. A fire safety lane is also marked adjacent to the entrance to Berth II along the east side of Tongass Trading to allow access to Berth III.

Some areas of Berths I & II in the vicinity of the Front Street Extension will be blocked off and unavailable for parking during the months of March and April due to construction.

Questions regarding the winter parking rules on Berths I & II should be directed to the Harbormaster at 228-5632.
