Sit News:

It disturbs me that our superintendent could talk like this in an open letter! The feeling I got when I attended a school board meeting was 'you are beneath me so say what you're going to say and sit down'. I was there to question why our kids were over crowded and without teachers! My feeling was this, if he cared about the students and their education then he would take a pay cut so they weren't over crowded and without teachers. If he cared so much in these time who wouldn't take a pay cut!

He, from what I see, could care less about the students of Hydaburg, I also wanted to note that why when asked by a student that I've talked to personally, he told her he knew their student government wasn't going to work! That right there really showed me what kind of guy he really was! He should be trying to encourage OUR CHILDREN not bring them down.

I would also like to know why we don't have Haida arts and language in our school anymore. Is it because of lack of funding or is it cause they are not doing their jobs and looking for grant monies for these programs that are very important to OUR CHILDREN'S future.

Parents need to form a parent board so we know what's going on in the school and how are children are being treated. Had he told my child he couldn't succeed, we would have some serious problems.

My main concern here is the CHILDREN and I will be making sure from here on out that our school board is looking out for the best interest of OUR CHILDREN!!!

Sincerely,

Tanya Bitonti
