Kudos, and Extreme Environmentalism
By Gregory Vickrey

Major kudos to Larry Jackson and the students of Kayhi for not only producing wonderful and LOCAL red and yellow cedar benches for the First City, but their ingenuity and drive. Thanks to the City of Ketchikan and the Downtown Steering Committee for encouraging local use and creation of high-value added wood products.

I hope you all get to produce garbage and recycling containers as well.

And bah humbug to City Councilman Dick Coose! Who knew he was such an extreme environmentalist that's against value-added use of our local cedar?
