Airport Shuttle Was Best Idea
By Ken Levy

In response to Mr.Ellis view on a shuttle to the airport from the Ketchikan Terminal, it will never work. Alaska Airlines is always late leaving and taking off. The weather in Ketchikan is most of the time poor with rain almost daily.and the shuttle would have to be timed to the ferry ,otherwise you would have to wait another hour. And with Homeland Security, you have to be at the airport 2 hours ahead. And what do you do if your plane arrives late at night maybe 2-3 hours late. Flight 69 is always late.

No, the Airport Shuttle was the best idea, always there to pick you up at your house and always there to meet your late flights.

The issue boils down to one thing. Money.

If the two parties involved would have really put out some effort to solve the problem we would still have this great service.

But that's not the way it works in Ketchikan.

How very sad that the local government cares so little for her seniors who need this service more than anyone.

Young people and the fit can drag their stuff up the hill with little or no problem. But the seniors have some problems with wheel chairs at low tide in the rain. Many of those folks don't drive, and have no one to take them to the terminal.

So at the end of the day ,it's all about money.A few more bucks and this problem could have been solved. But then that would have been too easy.
