Response is right and just

Mr. Hamilton, the reason people are going to such lengths to honor "this man" is because HE DIED!!! He died in an effort to spare the lives of the people of our community. People he did not know. But people who, due to his training and profession, he likely believed did not deserve to die in a horrific fire ball as would have ensued should that plane have gone down anywhere other than where it did. Does this really need to be spelled out for you?

The Mestas family suffered a definite loss, that is for sure. But they're all alive and able to hug one another and kiss their children. Shame on you, Mr. Hamilton, for thinking this community is doing "too much." Ketchikan's response, that from the community and our community leaders, is right and just. Should a similar end come to "one of our own citizens," I do not doubt that our community and its leaders would react in the exact way.
