Major Freeman
By Tori Jackson

My heart goes out to the friends and family of Major Stephen Freeman. He sounds like he was a wonderful person and that he touched many lives while he was on this earth. I don't think any Ketchikan resident, or former resident, will forget his heroic deed.

It also sounds like he left behind some pretty wonderful friends and family as well. I have been impressed, even in their time of great sorrow, by how many of his friends and family have taken the time to write to SITNews to thank the citizens of Ketchikan for their letters.

I hope someone thinks to save all the warm letters about Major Stephen Freeman for his children to read someday so they can know just how cherished by all their father was, and what a brave thing he did for the city of Ketchikan.
