Ketchikan, Alaska - Rogelio Calderon, Environmental Services Technician, has been named Employee of the Month at Ketchikan General Hospital (KGH) by a committee of his peers. Calderon began working for KGH in 1996 and worked for seven years in the Laundry/Linen Services Department. His current position is in Environmental Services, where among other areas, he has primary responsibility for housekeeping within the Emergency Department. Employees who nominated him for this award commented that, "He is quiet, courteous, gracious and so diligent in his activities He has not been in the Emergency Department very long, but since his coming on board, the place has never looked cleaner. He includes in his work a very pleasant attitude and sincere smile." The award of Employee of the Month at KGH recognizes those who regularly go above and beyond what is required, to provide high quality service to patients, visitors and co-workers.
