New Capital Building Designs
by Don Hoff, Jr.

I have looked at the new proposed designs of a new capital building in Juneau, Alaska submitted by various design companies. Are you kidding? One design looks like an erect penis and another design looks like a bug. How much State of Alaska dollars were spent on those ugly building designs?

The new capital building should incorporate all our Alaska natural resources in the new building like; Alaska jade stairways and entries, Alaska s red and yellow cedar, spruce, hemlock trees, granite walls and Alaska marble columns. Incorporate marble or granite statues of Alaska wild life outside the capital; polar bear, brown bear, caribou, deer and wolf. Incorporate Alaska Native art; totem poles for example.

I would have to admit that the new capital should be moved just outside of downtown Juneau. Parking is a big issue. The capital should be built where you can see it from the ocean and from the airport.

I am against the capital move to Anchorage, Alaska area. If there was a capital move, it should be moved back to Sitka, Alaska the original State of Alaska Capital. This is my own indigenous opinion.
