Open Letter to Alaska DelegationBy Laura Plenert January 17, 2018 Senators Murkowski and Sullivan and Representative Young, please encourage your Democrat counterparts to show up the State of the Union address. This is a time honored tradition. It is about respect for the Office of President, not the current occupant. I cannot imagine how harsh the cries would have been if a group of Republicans did not attend President Obama’s State of the Union address. Disagree or Agree, this is a speech meant for all Americans. We don’t have to agree or like the words. But for goodness sake – show that you are a professional – above the fray. He is the President of ALL Americans whether you like him or not. Just like all of the Presidents before him were Presidents of ALL Americans.
