Alaska State Income Tax

By Walt Hoefer

Governor Walker has inherited one heck of a mess. He does have an option, though it won’t be popular. Bring back the Alaska State Income Tax.

I lived in Metlakatla and Ketchikan for 33 years, moved there in 1959. We all paid that tax until the mid 70’s.

I’m sure it won’t be a popular subject, especially with our 5 “kids” and all our grandchildren who still call Alaska their home.

It’s a tough call, but what other options are there?
