Letter to the Editor:

I am a born and raised Ketchikanite, who has recently published a 278 page fiction novel called “Aftermath, A Story of Survival.”

Aftermath started out as a weekly serial where the readers would vote at the end of each episode on what would happen next! It gained such a large following online that it was edited and published in paperback and is also available on Kindle (coming soon to iBooks and Nook, too!). It is reminiscent of the old “Choose Your Own Adventure Books” and provided a unique reader experience where they could actually change the overall direction of the story. The name of the main character and even the title of the book was voted on by the readers!

The story follows Jimmy Walker who recognizes that the virus that knocks out all electronics sets the stage for a nationwide disaster unlike anything ever seen before. Bugging out to his cabin in the Manistee National Forest located in Northern Michigan, Jimmy planned on hunkering down there to weather the chaos and knew he would have to deal with wandering refugees and the criminal element from nearby Idlewild. What he hadn’t expected was the United Nations assuming global authority and abolishing not only states within countries but the countries themselves! As threats come from every angle, Jimmy struggles to work with others in the valley to defend and deter outsiders.

Due to the overwhelming following and requests online, a sequel has already started! Readers can once again dive into the world of Jimmy, Amie, and Captain as they stumble through the new world they have been thrust into and help shape the story each week. Head on over to www.homesteaddreamer.com and follow the “Saturday Survival Serial” to find the weekly stories and cast your vote, too!

You can get YOUR COPY of Aftermath during the book signing at Jerry’s Books and Games upstairs in the Plaza! The event will be on January 10th, 2015 from Noon to 2pm. (Also available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle!)

I will be happy to answer any questions you may have or you can email them to akhomestead.dreamer@gmail.com.
