(SitNews) - In response to heavy snow forecasted in Seattle and Portland, Ore., on Wednesday, Jan. 18, Alaska Airlines is proactively canceling 38 flights scheduled to depart beginning at 6 a.m. PST.

Customers traveling on flights into and out of Seattle and Portland tomorrow are urged to check www.alaskaair.com before leaving for the airport.

The airline is waiving change fees for customers traveling Tuesday through Thursday and has posted the following travel advisory on alaskaair.com:

Seattle and Portland passengers booked on flights into or out of Seattle and Portland, between Jan. 17 - 19 may rebook prior to Jan. 22 without change fees or apply for a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket. Tickets must be exchanged and travel completed by Jan. 22, 2012. Passengers may change their travel dates online at alaskaair.com or by calling Alaska Airlines at 1-800-ALASKAAIR (1-800-252-7522).
