Dear Editor,

Ketchikan is such a beautiful town. But what is so sad is all the garbage that people just throw along the side of the road! Before I got a car, I walked everywhere and I was shocked by all the trash along side the roads. Does anyone have any suggestions to clean up our towns trash problem?

One idea I have is people that have community service to do, have them pick up trash on the side of the roads. Another suggestion I have is for people to volunteer to have a certain area to clean up. Let's say once a month to volunteer an hour to clean up the area they sighed up for. And what a wonderful way to teach our children community pride.

So how about it? Let's clean up our beautiful Ketchikan!
