M/V Prince of Wales Scheduled for Maintenance

January 13, 2005
Thursday

Ketchikan, Alaska - The Inter-Island Ferry Authority is taking the M/V Prince of Wales out of service for scheduled maintenance on its second generator from January 24 through 27, 2005, advises IFA operations manager Stu Vincent.

The ferry will sail from Hollis at 8:00 am on January 24, arriving in Ketchikan at 11:00am and return to service out of Ketchikan on January 27. The generator work will be done by the Diesel Doc of Ketchikan and the ship's engine room personnel. Annual maintenance on the number one generator was completed during November.

Alternate service between Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island will be provided by the AHMS during the maintenance period. On January 25 and 26 the MV Lituya will depart Ketchikan for Hollis at 10:30 am, and depart Hollis for Ketchikan at 2:00 pm. Thanks to the AMHS, there will be minimal disruption to the scheduling that our users are accustomed to, while the M/V Prince of Wales is not operating, said Vincent.

For information on M/V Lituya service call the AMHS at 225-6182. The IFA contact number is 866-308-4848.
