Letter to the Editor:

Hello, I'm Mike Sheldon, and I'm running against incumbent Bert Stedman in Alaska's general election on Nov. 8.

We can opt to support a bloated government by voting for the moderate Stedman or following Mike Sheldon's conservative stance.

Policy Ideas:

• Stand up for the US Constitution to defend our Second Amendment rights, such as the freedom to keep and bear arms.

• Pro-life: We must uphold life rather than end it by murdering the defenseless! Planned Parenthood should be funded no more! Boys and girls protect our future as responsible citizens.

• Calculation required by law for a whole Permanent Fund Dividend, the PFD! The Hammond formula, a 40-year-old formula with a five-year average, must be retained in place of SB26, the POMV (Percentage of Market Value). Alaska's stockholders did not approve of the POMV, 5% market value, which is, therefore, illegal. According to SB26, the Governor, the House, and the Senate can all amend the POMV with a single act. However, any change specified in the Statutory Formula requires a referendum by the people of Alaska.

• Constitutional Spending Limits

• I am opposed to raising growth-killing taxes that prevent private investment and restrict job creation.

• We must continue maintaining and improving our Alaska Marine Highway System to function effectively, instead of wasting money on the construction of ships with bow loading entry and similar features.

• Sensible government spending; Public Safety, Education, and sustainable infrastructure-Jobs.

• State House and Senate members should have term limits like the Governor.

• I support and will vote yes on a Constitutional Convention in the general election of 2022. To hold the court system, including the House and Senate, etc., accountable for unacceptable activities of breaking the law, We, the People, must battle for freedom, truth, and integrity!

• Persevere in developing a robust subsistence fishery!

• Preserve Alaskans' recreational fisheries!

• Guard and protect the local commercial fishing sector of Alaska waters!

• Why Encourage logging in Southeast Alaska so that the annual earnings from stump- age payments can support state spending on roads and schools.

Vote for Mike Sheldon on Nov. 8 general election because Senator Stedman has had his opportunity, and it's time for a new candidate to represent the People of Alaska.
