Ketchikan, Alaska - The Anchorage-based State Medical Examiner has positively identified the remains recovered in the Tongass Narrows as those of Daniel Eugene Carter, age 48, of Ketchikan.

Cause of death was determined to be drowning. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin has been notified.
