Ketchikan, Alaska - Chris Nemire,
Security Officer at Ketchikan General Hospital (KGH) for the
past two years, has been named Employee of the Month by a committee
of his peers.
Nemire credits his past experience
as a military police officer with giving him the qualities and
expertise needed for this position.
The job of a hospital security
officer at KGH includes being responsible for patient and staff
security. Nemire also does light building maintenance,
manages crowds during crises, and assists staff with patients.
"The job can be summarized as lending a hand whenever and
wherever it is needed," said Nemire.
The award of Employee of the
Month at KGH recognizes those who regularly go above and beyond
what is required, to provide high quality service to patients,
visitors and co-workers.
