The Ketchikan Museum sponsored Saturday's special activity for Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Totem Heritage Center. The Bigs and Littles were invited to a special tour of the facility and had an opportunity to create a woven cedar bark ornament under the guidance of weavers Vivian Benson and Linda Schreck. The children were able to take their woven heart creations and their newly learned skills home with them at the end of the fun-filled day. Klein said Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to recognize Victoria Lord, Vivian Benson, and Linda Schreck for volunteering their time to prepare the bark for the event and for sharing their time and skills with the children and volunteers. Klein said their next monthly activity will be with The Friends of the Library at the Ted Ferry Center on Friday, April 2nd 2004. For more information, call 225-3350. Klein said tickets are required for the April 2nd event.
