Kevin,

You have very valid points in your letter and I congratulate you on joining in the public discourse.

What is being done by the police and the school district is not as important as what you and your fellow students are doing. Officialdom will only work with the help of the citizenry. You and the rest of the student body will be the ones to best help the police find the perpetrators of these crimes. And make no mistake, these are serious crimes.

Enlarging on the idea of terroristic threats, the United States is currently at war to eliminate threats like this on an international level. If we are wrong to do that, as some people think, then we must ask the question, why should we try to catch the individual(s) that are sending the bomb threats to our schools.

You have answered that question with your own. You do not feel free to work, to sleep in, to live your life the way you have become used to living. That is the nature of terror, to remove your feeling of safety. Talk to your fellow students and let's find the individuals responsible, so that we can go back to work and bed.
