A New first ~JOINT-PRESIDENTS~
Leadership

Politicians and political parties have been influenced by upcoming
elections in this Country since George Washington became President.
On April 30, 1789, George Washington, standing on the balcony
of Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York, took his oath of
office as the first President of the United States. "As
the first of every thing, in our situation will serve to establish
a Precedent," he wrote James Madison, "it is devoutly
wished on my part, that these precedents may be fixed on true
principles."
It is my belief that 215 years ago, (Politicians) would spend
a great deal of time getting elected only to realize, once elected,
their time would be greatly spent on future elections, good diplomacy
for future speeches and the constant debate over who, what and
how political (parties) ideas should proceed.
With our electoral process of today, an elected official devotes
his/her time in the best interest of three basic areas. 1. To
serve the people's interest as they elect to do so. 2. To become
familiar with the formalities of the new office. 3. To either
become re-elected or to see that someone with his/her ideas are
elected.
With these three preoccupation's an elected official must consider
his time valuable and we the people can understand why government
moves the way it does.
Perhaps if we improve and revise our method of electing individuals
to office by electing two or three individuals of different ideas
to work together in the same office, held accountable by members
of our government and the American public, we might gain some
momentum and speed up the process of governing and the bussiness
of running our Country in a more effective and mutually agreeable
way.
Sincerely,
Kevin McMahon
